Charlotte, N.C. – Joey Smith, vice president of Frampton Construction, has been selected by the Charlotte Business Journal (CBJ) for the 2021 class of 40 Under 40. Designed to recognize those who have excelled in their chosen profession and in service to their community, the program evaluated candidates based on their success in business, community involvement, leadership ability, and impact on the Charlotte region.
As vice president, Joey Smith leads the daily operations of Frampton’s Charlotte office with a focus on client relationships and project delivery. Joey has more than 16 years of construction experience in a range of markets, possessing a strong background in industrial design-build work. In 2020, he was selected as one of Engineering News-Record’s Southeast Top Young Professionals, a list held in high esteem by the building, design, and construction industries.
In addition to his professional successes, Joey is an active supporter of several local organizations including Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte, Claire’s Army, and Atrium Health Levine Children's Hospital. A graduate of the University of North Carolina – Charlotte (UNCC), Joey now serves as an executive board member for their School of Construction Management and Engineering Technologies.
Now in its 28th year, the Charlotte Business Journal's 40 Under 40 Awards program turns a spotlight on 40 individuals — all under the age of 40 — who are making a difference in their careers and communities. This year’s winners will be recognized during an awards event on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at the Grand Bohemian Hotel Charlotte. The honorees will also be featured in a CBJ special report around the same time, giving readers a glimpse into their backgrounds, motivations and personal lives.
