CHARLESTON, S.C. (June 5, 2025) Frampton Construction Company, a full-service firm providing planning and design support, preconstruction and construction services, announces the addition of Kirk Matthews, PE, as Vice President. Based in the company’s Charlotte office, Matthews will help advance Frampton’s strategic growth by strengthening client relationships, supporting pipeline development and guiding project execution across sectors.

“Kirk brings the kind of leadership and experience that align perfectly with our values,” said Chad Frampton, CEO. “His understanding of how to deliver operational excellence while building strong client relationships is exactly what we need as we continue expanding our presence across the Southeast.”

Matthews brings 18 years of commercial construction experience, with deep expertise in the industrial sector. Most recently, he led the industrial division at Omega Construction, overseeing the industrial team and generating more than $250 million in annual revenue. His role spanned corporate strategy, business development, operations, preconstruction and employee development.

In the past six years alone, Matthews has built and led the development of more than 15 million square feet of industrial space, including over 3 million square feet of work for Lowe’s Home Improvement within the Georgia International Trade Center.

“I was drawn to Frampton because of the people. Everyone I’ve met is passionate, focused and aligned in their commitment to maintaining a strong culture,” Matthews said. “This role gives me the chance to continue doing what I love: building relationships, guiding project teams and creating spaces that serve our clients’ missions, while helping shape the next chapter of growth at Frampton.”

A licensed professional engineer in North Carolina, Matthews holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He is also a LEED-accredited professional and OSHA 30-certified. Raised on a fifth-generation family farm in East Bend, North Carolina, he lives there today with his wife, Emily, their three children, and two Labrador retrievers. Outside of work, he enjoys wake surfing, hunting, playing golf and helping run the family’s black Angus cattle herd.
