Frampton Construction Begins Construction of Race Track Logistics Facility in Pompano Beach
Frampton Construction has started work on Race Track Logistics, an estimated 1.5 million square-foot industrial complex in Pompano Beach, Florida. Located in The Pomp, near Harrah’s Casino, the project is being developed by Rockpoint.
POMPANO BEACH, Fla. (September 4, 2024) — Frampton Construction Company (“Frampton”), a full-service firm providing planning and design support, preconstruction and construction services, announced today it has broken ground on a new, premier urban industrial complex, called Race Track Logistics, in Pompano Beach, Florida. Rockpoint, a Boston-based real estate private equity firm, is developing the approximately 1.5 million-square-foot, 87-acre, Class A industrial park on the site of the former horse racing track. The site is currently approved for eight buildings.
Race Track Logistics is located east of the Harrah’s Pompano Beach Casino at 777 Isle of Capri Boulevard within The Pomp, a 223-acre mixed-use project that brings together entertainment, dining, hotel, retail, residential, office, and lifestyle amenities. The Cordish Companies and Caesars Entertainment are the master developers of The Pomp.
Phase One of Race Track Logistics’ development will consist of 620,738 square feet across four buildings. Construction began in July 2024, with buildings expected to be delivered from July through September 2025.
“We are excited to be delivering Pompano Beach’s first new industrial space in many years,” said Frampton’s Senior Project Manager, Kyle Shank. “This project will provide essential, state-of-the-art space for industrial tenants in the area. Frampton will complete the development of the full site and construct Phase One, which includes grading, drainage, vertical construction of four buildings, and exterior landscaping. Notable items in the scope of work include two-story storefront glass, an entrance facade with architectural panels and feature walls on all buildings, and a thermoplastic polyolefin roofing system for weather resistance and energy efficiency. The buildings will include a 36’ clear height and 165 dock doors with two drive-in doors per building.
The extensive landscaping is designed with a “municipality mindset” to match similar landscaping projects around the city of Pompano Beach. It features lush green space surrounding the parking lots and roadways, as well as multiple precast concrete walls to shade truck ports. Race Track Logistics’ careful exterior design, refined elegance, and elevated aesthetic represent a valuable investment in Pompano’s industrial infrastructure.
