Why did you choose to enter the construction industry?
Growing up, I was always interested in design and construction. That led me to pursue a degree in civil engineering from The Citadel. After graduation, I started on the construction side of the project and became very interested in how to take a project from concept to reality. The reward of being able to drive by a project years from now and say, “I built that,” is one of the reasons I decided to enter the construction industry.

Who inspires you?
Those whom I work with inspire me the most. When you are with a group as many hours out of the week as you are with your coworkers, they become the drive and inspiration to better yourself on a daily basis.

What is your favorite part of a construction project?
Being in pre-construction, my favorite part of a construction project is subcontractor bid day. The excitement of a project that you have worked on with owners, architects, and engineers over the course of months to develop a quality project within budget is starting to take shape.

What was your first construction project, and what did you enjoy the most about it?
My first construction project was the Boeing Truck Stop Facility here in North Charleston. The fact that my first project was a high profile facility is something that I enjoy seeing every time I drive by the building.
