Chad Frampton


As president and CEO of Frampton Construction, Chad Frampton leads the firm in overall direction and company development. He also works to maintain positive, lasting client relationships and heads the company’s work acquisition endeavors.  

Frampton began working for his father, Charles Frampton, founder of Frampton & Associates, in 2002. The younger Frampton worked on the operations side of the business as assistant project manager and then as project manager before joining the management team in 2009.

In 2010, he assumed an executive leadership role and has since led the company to a record of consistent and significant growth and sales. In 2018, Frampton Construction was ranked number 267 on the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest growing countries in the nation and was one of only three companies in South Carolina to be named to ENR Magazine’s Southeast Top Contractor list. 

Frampton was named one of the 50 Most Influential for 2017 and 2018 by the Charleston Business Magazine and was selected as a Forty Under 40 winner by the Charleston Regional Business Journal in 2017. He was also honored with the title of “2017 Lowcountry Man of the Year” by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society after leading a campaign that raised $214,000 toward the fight against blood cancer. In 2019, Frampton was named to ENR Magazine’s Top 20 Under 40 National list. 

Frampton takes great honor in the opportunity to lead Frampton Construction as a second-generation construction firm. He earned a degree in business administration from Newberry College, in Newberry, South Carolina. A native of Charleston, Frampton resides in Mount Pleasant.



Tom Black

Executive Vice President

As executive vice president and chief operating officer of the company in the Charleston, S.C., office, Tom Black manages daily operations of the business. He also leads the company’s administration, accounting and project management and is responsible for business development across a broad range of industries and sectors.

Prior to joining the Frampton team, Black served as the vice president and general manager for Roy Anderson Corporation, in Jackson, Mississippi. There, his main responsibilities included implementing annual business plans and policies to achieve overall corporate objectives.

He brings over 30 years of construction and management experience as a construction services executive. Throughout his career, his experience has bridged all roles and responsibilities of a commercial general contractor, including leadership positions in preconstruction and project management. Black holds a B.S. degree from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee.  A native of Nashville, Tenn., Black resides on James Island.



Keaton Green

Vice President

Keaton J. Green, vice president, first started with the company in 2002, and after expanding his construction management skills at Clemson University and Holder Construction, returned to Frampton Construction in 2013 as a project manager. Later that year, he was promoted to director. In this role, he helped grow the Charlotte division and its project management operations. 

Having moved back to Frampton’s Charleston office in 2017, Green continues to manage client relationships and focus on company development. He oversees many of the company's standard processes and procedures and leads internal training initiatives to ensure that Frampton team members are up to date on operational best practices. Green was promoted to Vice President in 2019. 

Prior to joining Frampton Construction, Green served as senior project engineer for Holder Construction Company, an ENR top 50 contractor. He holds a B.S. in construction science and management from Clemson University and is a LEED certified accredited professional for building construction and design. A native of Charleston, S.C., he currently resides in Mt. Pleasant.  



Joey Smith


As director, Joey Smith focuses on work acquisition, company development, building client relationships, and overall project delivery. Smith has 15 years of construction experience in business development, preconstruction, project management and operations management. With a strong background in industrial design-build work, he also leads many of Frampton Construction’s regional design-build endeavors. 

Smith graduated from the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Charlotte with a degree in industrial operations management. He now serves as an executive board member for UNC Charlotte’s School of Construction Management and Engineering Technologies. He holds an OSHA 30-hour training certification and is a licensed general contractor in five states, including North and South Carolina. Smith currently resides in Charlotte, N.C.  



Craig Calhoun

Director of Finance

As director of finance at Frampton Construction, Craig Calhoun leads the strategic financial direction of the company. Calhoun's financial leadership spans across many sectors of the company, including accounting, risk management, human resources, project management, and investments. In addition, he is actively involved in business development and preconstruction, bringing a financial perspective to initial project development phases.

Calhoun, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with over ten years of construction finance experience, holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Wofford College and a master's degree in accountancy from Clemson University. He currently serves as the President of the South Carolina Chapter of Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) and is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI). A native of Spartanburg, S.C., Calhoun currently resides in Charleston.
