MENUMENU

Curtiss-Wright

Description

Frampton Construction is underway on an industrial facility for Curtiss-Wright, a product designer, manufacturer and service provider for the U.S. Navy. The project, developed by The Keith Corporation, is located within the Charleston Trade Center in Summerville, S.C.

The 144,376-square foot building will be constructed of pre-cast concrete panels and structural steel with several heavy industrial manufacturing equipment foundations, a 20-foot deep steam testing pit, and a high-pressure boiler & steam generation system. The ceilings will have a 40’ clear height, tall enough to house multiple overhead bridge crane assemblies and other specialty equipment.

Alan Lewis, industrial development partner for The Keith Corporation, commented, “Frampton Construction and our design partners have excelled in delivering solutions for very specialized requirements to meet the needs of Curtiss-Wright. I could not be happier with our team.”

Manufacturing operations comprise 107,000-square feet of the building. Open office areas, conference rooms, and a cafeteria occupy the remaining 37,000-square feet. A boiler/steam plant, which will be used by Curtiss-Wright to test products within the facility, will be operational by 2020.

Additional partners on this project include McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture, WGPM Engineering, and RMF Engineering. Construction began in November of 2018 and is due to be complete by November of 2019.

What Customers are saying

I am sending you this to acknowledge your company and your team for a job VERY well done. To break ground and have a project of this magnitude complete in seven months was no small feat. Your help and involvement from the early stages of approvals, your selection of supportive sub-trades, your highly disciplined processes to keep the project on schedule, and most of all your people, were key.
